Bagpipper uses your Viremail account, personal or business. If you do not have one yet, you can create one at viremail.com.
With a password
- Open Bagpipper and enter your Viremail address and password.
- If you use two-step verification, enter the code from your authenticator app.
With a passkey
On a Mac, passkeys saved in iCloud Keychain cannot be used inside a desktop app yet, so Bagpipper offers Sign in with your browser instead. Security keys work directly in the app.
- Choose Sign in with your browser. Your default browser opens a Viremail sign-in page.
- Sign in there in whatever way you usually do, including with a passkey.
- Choose Open when your browser asks to return to the app. Bagpipper finishes signing you in.
Each computer you sign in on gets its own connection to your account, which you can see under Active sessions in Viremail’s security settings. Signing out of Bagpipper, or ending that session from another device, disconnects it straight away. You also receive the usual email when a new device signs in.
If macOS asks about the keychain
Bagpipper keeps your sign-in encrypted with the macOS keychain. After a new version, macOS may ask whether the app may use its keychain item. Choose Always Allow so it does not ask again. If you choose Deny, the app asks you to sign in again; nothing in your account changes.
