Troubleshooting

What to do when the app will not open, will not sign in or will not connect.

macOS will not open the app

The current Mac build is not yet signed with an Apple Developer ID. Open System Settings, choose Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway. The installation guide has the full steps.

It asks me to sign in again

Bagpipper keeps your sign-in encrypted with the macOS keychain. If macOS did not let it open that item, perhaps because Deny was chosen, the app asks you to sign in again. Nothing in your account has changed. Sign in, and choose Always Allow if macOS asks about the keychain.

It says it cannot connect

Bagpipper keeps a checked copy of the suite on your Mac, so it opens without a connection, but mail, chat and files still need the internet to update. Check your connection; the app reconnects on its own when the network comes back or your Mac wakes.

It stopped

If part of the app crashes, Bagpipper reloads it by itself. If that happens three times in two minutes it stops and offers Reload. If it keeps happening, quit the app from the menu bar icon, open it again, and tell us what you were doing.

A keyboard shortcut does nothing

Another app may already use it. Bagpipper says so in Settings, under This device, where you can choose a different shortcut.

Still stuck?

Write to us from the contact page. Tell us your macOS version, the Bagpipper version (shown in Settings) and what you see. A person will reply.
